Short White and Black Stripes Tumbler

40.00

Post is for ONE handmade black and soft mat white stripes tumbler in speckled stoneware clay. The inside is a waxy white.

These have a simple beauty, I use them as water glasses, tea or wine cups, even to hold a few flowering stems from the garden!

This style plays with texture, having a raw unglazed texture of natural clay at the base, against a mat white glazed interior. The stripes are first carved into the cup and then filled in with the colored glaze - giving the tumbler extra texture and feeling pleasant in your hands.

Holds approx 12 oz, measures 3.25" wide and 3.25" in height.

Microwave and dishwasher safe.

Method: the tumbler is wheel thrown from a ball of iron rich (which creates the speckle effect) red clay. It is decorated with complementary pastel glazes. I diamond core sand the bottom of each piece for maximum smoothness on the base.

Signed and dated on the bottom.
